In the summer of 2011, while visiting my family, I decided to photograph in black and white film to reconnect with the way I used to take photos in the late ’70s when living in France. I spent a week in Montreuil, suburb of Paris, discovering some Parisian non-touristic quarters such as Quai de l’Oise, Quai de la Villette, Canal Saint-Martin and Pont de Cardinet close to Porte de Clichy. Afterward, I left Paris for Presqu’île de Crozon, Brittany (Bretagne), then Le Lot near Cahors and finally Le Sud-Ouest, close to Spain.
During the trip, I also made many recordings of ambient sounds. Back to Vancouver, BC Canada, I produced a multimedia presentation of the photographs including samples of soundtracks of the various regions I had visited and documented.
